The Baltimore Ravens have been actively enhancing their roster during the 2025 offseason through strategic signings and preparations for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Key Free Agency Acquisitions:

• DeAndre Hopkins, Wide Receiver: The Ravens bolstered their receiving corps by signing veteran wideout DeAndre Hopkins to a one-year, $5 million deal. Despite being 32, Hopkins remains a reliable target, having recorded 1.8 yards per route run last season.

• Cooper Rush, Quarterback: To provide depth behind Lamar Jackson, Baltimore secured former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush with a two-year, $6.2 million contract. Rush brings experience and a steady presence to the backup quarterback position.

• Chidobe Awuzie, Cornerback: The Ravens addressed their secondary by adding cornerback Chidobe Awuzie. His coverage skills and versatility are expected to strengthen Baltimore’s pass defense.

Departures:

• Kristian Welch, Linebacker: Special teams contributor and linebacker Kristian Welch signed with the Green Bay Packers.

• Steven Sims, Wide Receiver/Returner: After a brief stint with the Ravens, Steven Sims joined the Seattle Seahawks, impacting Baltimore’s return game depth.

Holding 11 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, including the 27th overall selection, the Ravens are well-positioned to address key roster needs. Analysts suggest a focus on defensive positions:

• Safety Position: NFL.com’s Chad Reuter projects Baltimore selecting Georgia safety Malaki Starks in the first round, aiming to enhance the secondary’s depth and versatility.

• Defensive Line: With the retirement of Michael Pierce and Brent Urban remaining a free agent, bolstering the defensive line is a priority. The Ravens may target defensive tackles to complement their existing talent.

• Edge Rusher: Adding a dynamic pass rusher could elevate the defense. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has linked the Ravens to prospects at this position in his mock drafts.

General Manager Eric DeCosta’s strategic approach in free agency and the draft aims to position the Ravens for a competitive 2025 season. By addressing both offensive and defensive needs, Baltimore seeks to build upon its strong foundation and contend at the highest level.
